African Regional Investment Strategy Advisor (Part-Time)

Job Responsibilities

Producing Regular Policy Analysis Report: Provide regular reports on policy updates and changes in the African region, especially those that may affect the investment climate and market dynamics. Analyze the potential impact of policy changes on specific investment opportunities and risks. Providing Strategic Recommendations: Provide strategic recommendations on investment in the African market based on policy trends and changes for the company. Evaluate investment opportunities and risks in different countries and regional policy environments. Conducting Remote Communication and Consultation: Conduct regular communications with the internal team through video conferencing, email, and other remote communication tools. Serve as a resource expert on African markets and policies, answering questions and consultations from team members. Conducting Market Research and Data Analysis: Remotely collect and analyze market data, studying the economic and political dynamics of various African countries. Utilize online resources and databases for research to support investment decisions. Producing Risk Assessment: Identify and assess investment risks associated with regional policies in Africa, including political risks, regulatory risks, and macroeconomic risks.

Qualification and skills

Educational Background: Possession of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, International Law, Development Studies, or related fields. Regional Expertise: In-depth understanding of the political and economic conditions of African countries, processes of regional integration, transnational cooperation mechanisms, and policies and frameworks of regional organizations such as the African Union. Related Experience: Experience in policy analysis regarding Africa within environments such as NGOs, international organizations, think tanks, or policy research institutions, with a strong preference for candidates who are U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals with relevant African work experience. Policy Analysis Skills: Ability to perform in-depth analyses of policy documents, understanding their impact on the investment environment, and how to formulate effective investment strategies in different political and economic contexts. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly conveying complex policy analysis and recommendations to non-specialist audiences, including company management and investors.
